Welcome Hi, I am glad you stopped by for a peek in the Nursery! I have been creating these life-like dolls for 4 years now and I am fascinated by how much things have changed since I first began. The art or reborning is such a quickly changing and evolving art form, it's important to stay on top of the newest techniques. I enjoy sharing my love for the art and knowledge with others. I am thankful every day for the love and support of my family and friends. Please check out my About me Page to learn more about me and my family. Make sure you stop by my Labor &Delivery Room to see some before and after pictures and more fun photos of my Babies. What is a "Reborn" doll? Reborn dolls are fast becoming the most sought-after dolls for collectors and enthusiasts alike. The art of "reborning" a doll creates the most realistic doll possible. It is a painstaking and very detailed process; I spend countless hours on the smallest details to bring my creations to life. When you see a reborn doll, you almost expect to hear him or her giggle and laugh.

The Reborning Process Reborn dolls start out as normal vinyl, or silicone heads and limbs. During the reborning process, I strip all of the parts of any factory paint and residues, and it then thoroughly dry them. Once the pieces are ready, I carefully paint each piece to resemble a real infants skin tone. Some dolls I give a splotchy newborn look to while others have the peaches and cream skin tone. They all have the creases and wrinkles accented and delicate veining where a real newborn would have thinner skin. They are no longer orange colored like most play dolls. After all the painting is done I heat set the paint to make it permanent. I hand-root (one or two hairs at a time) the hair using Angora Kid mohair. I process this mohair myself; after it is thoroughly cleaned, I dye it to natural human hair colors and condition it. It is super fine and looks just like an infants hair. I then seal the hair from the inside, to allow for styling. Eyebrows are painted on one hair at a time with very fine strokes, and lips are painted and sealed with a permanent sealer. Eyelashes are hand-rooted mohair for sleeping babies, or glued on for open-eyed babies. I replace the factory eyes with more realistic eyes. . I open the nose and back the opening with felt. The final touches are taken care of also, such as giving the doll a manicure. Each nail is painted to look like a real babies freshly clipped finger and toenails. Then they are sealed. The doll is then reassembled. I fill the limbs with high-quality sand for a realistic weight. Each limb is topped with poly fill and sealed with glue to prevent leakage. The doll's body is filled with pellets, and with poly fill. I also weight the head so that it feels just like a real newborn that needs its head supported when you hold it. Once the doll is assembled, She is weighed and measured and given her very own birth certificate.
